LCVI's ANNUAL ROAD RACE

You are invited to our 43rd annual ROAD RACE!

WEDNESDAY, MAY 1st, 2024

First race begins at 10:35 AM

What do you need to know about the LCVI Road Race?

GENERAL INFO

  • We invite over 50 local elementary schools, and host over 1000 runners each year.

  • Races will be run rain or shine (or snow)!

  • LCVI’s student volunteers will be supporting our races, our canteen and our first aid station to help keep runners safe.

  • There will be four age groups. We will continue with our two minor atom races for our boys and girls in grades 3 or younger, to improve runner enjoyment and safety for our youngest participants.

  • Students who identify as non-cisgender, should be registered into the gendered race that best suits their identity. If they are gender fluid and identify differently on race day, please have the athlete compete in the most suitable race and make any changes at registration.

PARKING

  • Please ask spectators not to park along race routes. Vehicles parked on race routes make it dangerous for the runners and other motorists.

COST

  • Participation fee is $4 per athlete registered by April 26th.

  • The fee is $5 per athlete for those registered on the day of the race.

  • Fees can be paid by cash or cheque (payable to LCVI Athletics), on the day of the race (receipts available).

  • Please register ALL athletes that you expect to participate. You will only need to pay for the students that compete.

REGISTRATION

  • Coaches/Parents/Guardians are strongly encouraged to register ahead of time (by Friday, April 26th).

  • As always, students are welcome to show up and run on the day of the race, but this is not recommended if you have more than 15 runners.

  • *NEW THIS YEAR: Runners will be given race bibs to wear during their race to help us track race results. 

    • The bib will have the runner’s assigned number printed on the front.

    • The runner's name, division and school will be labelled on the back.

    • Registered runners (by April 26th) will have pre-packaged race bibs (with pins) ready for the coach/parent/guardian upon check in on May 1st.

  • Please download (click on the icon below) and fill out the Excel spreadsheet for all runners.

  • Your entry Excel file MUST be sent to mooreto@limestone.on.ca

TEAMS / AWARDS

TEAMS

  • A team consists of at least 4 runners, with the top 4 finishers to count for team placing.

  • A fifth runner (if you have one) may be recorded on the team recording sheet. The fifth runner's result will be used as a tie-breaker only.

  • Students may also run as individuals if there are not enough runners to form a team. The larger your team the better. We encourage all school runners.

AWARDS

  • Medals will be awarded to the top three individuals in each division

​​

  • Ribbons will be awarded to:

    • the top three teams in each division

    • individuals placed 4th through 25th

​​

  • ​Race Bibs will act as participation ribbons (provided to every athlete)
